Super Bowl Winners
The Super Bowl winners of this year are the Indianapolis Colts. Led by their MVP quarterback, Peyton Manning, the Colts became the Superbowl winners of the Super Bowl XLI after humbling the Chicago Bears 29-17. This was the second time the Colts became Super Bowl winners and their first success as Colts Super Bowl champions happened in Super Bowl V. Many football fans had expected the Colts to win Superbowl, and it was like a dream come true when they truly became Super Bowl champions.
Before the game, it was rather difficult to predict who will win the Superbowl. The 1985 Super Bowl champions Chicago Bears were traditionally a great defensive team and it would have been no surprise if they became the Superbowl winner this year. However, the Colts, who were also past Super Bowl champions, took to their great offense and became the 2007 Super Bowl winners.
Looking at the past Superbowl winners, three teams are tied for the most Super Bowl wins. The most successful past Super Bowl winners include the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and the Pittsburg Steelers who marked their latest win during the Super Bowl XL. Other than the Superbowl winners, there are also teams with the most Super Bowl losses. In this category, three teams are tied with four losses each, and they include the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, and the Bufallo Bills. The team with the most Super Bowl appearances is the Dallas Cowboys with a total of eight trips to the Super Bowl. And of the eight, they became the Super Bowl winner on five occasions. The most interesting Superbowl wins are those that came down to the final play. A classic example of this is Adam Vinatieri’s 48-yard field goal kick that made the New England Patriots the Superbowl champions of Super Bowl XXXVI.
Super Bowl is just one game every year. Fans, sports enthusiasts, sports commentators and TV sports networks all come together to witness the most important American football game of the year. The highlight of this year’s Super Bowl was a touchdown by Devin Hester off a kick return, and he became one of the very few players to achieve this feat in a Super Bowl match-up. This touchdown was scored just 14 seconds from the start of the game, which broke the record for the fastest touchdown in the history of the Super Bowl. With such a great start to the Super Bowl, it seemed that the Colts were destined to become the 2007 Super Bowl winners.
