Super Bowl Rings

Super Bowl rings have been in existence since the very first super bowl. After forty years (the makers have not officially released on their website the Colts’ ring), the maker of the Super Bowl rings are still the same and the symbols used stayed from the very first edition of the Super Bowl rings. These Superbowl rings represent pride and achievement by the players. Most players still wear the Super Bowl ring long after they retire from the game.

Super Bowl ring history dates back to the very first Super Bowl. It was a the AFL and the NFL championship game wherein the Green Bay Packers received their very first Superbowl ring after winning the game against Kansas City Chiefs. The traditional symbolism of the NFL Super Bowl ring designs is still kept until now. The ring would have the color of yellow or white gold. The ring would have the team name, logo and the Roman numeral number indicating which Super Bowl they clinched the championship.

It's also a tradition to place diamonds corresponding to the actual number of championships they won. Today a Super Bowl ring cost the NFL $5,000 and they would have to make at least 150 rings for the entire team. A though of having the Super Bowl championship rings for sale is quite impossible as the creators and NFL doesn’t put up these Super Bowl rings for sale requests though you can get replica ones.

If the makers would follow the tradition, the Colts Super Bowl ring would have two diamonds in the shape of trophies. This indicates their second win (their first was as the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl V). The Colts Superbowl ring will also have the final scores of the AFC championships and Super Bowl scores on each side. As per custom, the Colts Superbowl rings will also have their team logo with the Roman numeral number XLI – indicating they won the 41st Super Bowl.

Even though fans can't have the original Super Bowl Rings, supporters of the team can always have replica super bowl rings. These rings have also become collector’s item as they grow older through time. In America, hobby shops and internet stores have the complete collection of the super bowl rings; probably the latest is the replica Superbowl XL ring of the Pittsburg Steelers. If financially you just can’t get hold of these beautiful replicas, you can always have the Super Bowl ring poster. It will also show you the actual ring and even tickets of the actual game. Josters are the makers of the original Super Bowl rings. This is really "one ring to rule them all"!
