Snickers Super Bowl Commercials

The Snickers Superbowl commercial that was aired on Super Bowl Sunday this year was probably one of the most controversial ads that the chocolate bar company ever came up with.

The Snickers Super Bowl commercial that was shown this year had upset a lot of people, and these people complained that the commercial was done in bad taste and should not have been aired at all. The Superbowl Snickers commercial caused quite a controversy and the company that manufactured the candy bar pulled the ad from regular airing and apologized to the public for what they initially thought was a harmless and funny idea for an ad campaign.

Snickers Superbowl commercials have made the Super Bowl commercial line-up before, with the last Snickers ad shown during the 1991 Super Bowl. The Snickers mechanics Superbowl commercial irked a lot of people since it had implications of homophobia. The 2007 Snickers Superbowl commercial got the attention of the gay community as well as other organizations that believed that the commercial was out of line.

The commercial featured two mechanics who were working on a car. One of the mechanics pulls out a Snickers bar while he and his companion were working under the hood of the car. The first mechanic peels off the wrapper on the candy bar and starts eating it as they continue to work on the vehicle's engine. The other mechanic seems to want a share of the candy bar, and so starts to bite the chocolate bar from the other end. This results in their kissing accidentally. Shocked by the kiss, both men jump back, and to prove that they are not gay, they decide to do something manly. The commercial that aired on the Super Bowl showed the two men pulling off clumps of hair from their chests to prove that they are after all macho men.

The Snickers kiss Superbowl commercial actually has two alternative endings to the hair pulling stunt. One of the alternative endings to this kissing commercial suggests that the two mechanics drink automobile oil after the kiss while another shows them inflicting pain on each other. The line “Quick, do something manly!” on the commercial angered a lot of people, and it came across as an insult to the third sex. The company had to apologize and discontinue the airing of this commercial on their website and on TV.

Even though they are not aired on TV anymore, Snickers Super Bowl commercials are still available on the internet. Just go to a search engine and type ‘Snickers Super Bowl commercials’ and you will surely find a website where you can view this controversial advertisement.
