The Chicago Bears is one of the oldest franchises in American Football along with the Arizona Cardinals. The Chicago Bears history started in Decatur and was called the Decatur Stanleys. The team then transferred to Chicago and was called the Chicago Stanleys for one season where they won their first Championship in the APFA. They were renamed the Chicago Bears for the 1922 season when the team joined the NFL. Before the merge, the Chicago Bears has won a total of eight NFL Championships (1921, 1932, 1933, 1940, 1941, 1943, 1946, and 1963) including their sole Championship in APFA.

After the merge of the AFL and the NFL, Chicago Bears football registered their one and only Super Bowl win in Super Bowl XX with the 1985 Chicago Bears team. The latest appearance of the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl was last year when they faced the Indianapolis Colts. The team went down 29-17.
